JERI replacement information
JERI is obsolete as of August 2009.
JERI older interface to the Oracle database is going away. The data stays.
There are few tools with components that will replace the JERI functionality:
- CSS does all of its CCR magic and also now contains the MPS stuff from JERI. CSS also has other Oracle database lookup tools like the Archive stuff, PV Utility, Rack Viewer, PV Fields Viewer, and other (D.Purcell, K.Kasemir)
- ROCS contains some reporting and updating tools like Cable Maitenance tool, Power Maintenance tool, Device reports and updating tools, and other (K.Danilova)
- Website https://ics-web.sns.ornl.gov/BIGroup/rack/rack.php that allows you to do a great deal of Oracle database data manipulation. (D.Purcell) . Here you can See the contents of racks, create new devices, move devices into and out of racks, move device position in racks, see network and other information. Also, as we did in JERI, we can now update data in the data tables in that Excel style format.
To create new devices or update the information you have to have database update privileges (if you were working with tables in JERI, you can do here).
If you don’t have privilege, you can still look at the data.
